Cécile Mathevet-Bouchet

received her training as a conductor at the National School of Music of Villeurbanne and the Conservatory of St-Etienne. Alongside her musical university studies, in 2007 she joined the class of Bernard Tetu and Nicole Corti at the Superior National Conservatory of Music in Lyon. From 2009 to 2011, she worked as a conductor at the Concert Choir of the Catholic University, the Opera Maîtrise in Lyon and then of the Pre-Masters “Petits Chanteurs of St Jean of Lyon Cathedral”. Since 2007, she has been overseeing the training of choral conducting with many organizations, running choir holidays for children and working with A Cœur Joie on Franco-German courses of choral singing. She regularly gets invited by primary or middle schools to create choir projects. In 2010 she created the Artmilles Ensemble which gives unusual concerts focusing on the music of the 20th century. Ongoing projects implement collaborations with artistic fields other than music, and in unusual locations. Since 2011 she has been Assistant Conductor to Jean-Baptiste Bertrand of la Maîtrise de la Loire in Montbrison. In May 2018 she conducted the children’s opera “The Golden Vanity” by Britten.
