The Girls Choir Skowronki from Pozna\u0144 is one of Europe\u2019s leading children\u2019s and youth choirs. Since its founding in 1950, it has been closely associated with the ZAMEK Cultural Center and is known for musical excellence, artistic curiosity, and a strong sense of community. About 150 girls aged 6 to 21 sing in the choir. They are all united by a passion for music\u2014from their first steps in singing to demanding concert programs at an international level. The diverse repertoire ranges from works by the old masters to contemporary compositions. Particularly defining are pieces written specifically for the choir that showcase its distinctive timbre. The choir is led by Alicja Szeluga, who, as artistic director, shapes its musical development with great dedication and experience. She is supported by vocal coach Zuzanna Zi\u0119ta and pianist Czes\u0142aw \u0141ynsza.<\/p>\n
The choir looks back on an impressive track record: numerous international competitions, over forty first prizes, and collaborations with renowned orchestras, including the Pozna\u0144 Philharmonic Orchestra, attest to its high artistic standard. Concert tours have taken the singers to many European countries as well as to Israel, the United States, South America, and Asia. A special milestone was their performance at Carnegie Hall\u2014one of the world\u2019s most prestigious concert venues. The acclaimed concert left a lasting impression on the audience and underscored the ensemble\u2019s international appeal. In addition to numerous radio and television productions, the choir\u2019s discography now includes 25 CDs and DVDs. For its artistic dedication, the Girls Choir Skowronki was awarded the \u201cBadge of Honor for Services to the Greater Poland Voivodeship.\u201d Through the international girls choir festival TRILLME, which takes place every two years in Pozna\u0144, the choir also serves as a vibrant symbol of cultural exchange and the promotion of young voices worldwide.<\/p>\n
