15th International Youth Chamber Choir Meeting Usedom | August 14\u201323, 2026<\/strong>
\nUnder the patronage of Minister President Manuela Schwesig<\/p>\n

The International Youth Chamber Choir Meeting Usedom<\/strong> is a unique European festival for young choir singers that takes place every two years<\/strong> in the summer on the sun-drenched Baltic Sea island of Usedom<\/strong>. Organized by the Arbeitskreis Musik in der Jugend e.V. (AMJ)<\/strong>, it has been bringing together young people from all over Europe for three decades to make music together, learn from one another, and engage in cultural exchange.<\/p>\n

Over ten days of intensive musical rehearsals this year, approximately 200 singers<\/strong> aged 13 to 26 from Latvia, Spain, Poland, and Germany<\/strong> will study challenging choral repertoire and present the results in concerts on the island of Usedom and in Wolgast.<\/p>\n

In three artistic ateliers in Zinnowitz, Karlshagen, and Krummin\u2014led by three internationally renowned choral directors, Basilio Astulez (Spain), Agnes Schnabl (Austria), and Ba\u015fak Do\u011fan (Turkey)<\/strong>\u2014the participants will work on pieces of various styles for girls\u2019 and mixed choirs.<\/p>\n

In addition to intensive rehearsals, there is time for interaction, socializing, and shared experiences\u2014whether through spontaneous singing on the beach, shared dinners, or concerts organized together, such as those in Trassenheide, Zinnowitz, Karlshagen, Heringsdorf, Wusterhusen, and other inspiring locations on the Baltic Sea island.<\/p>\n

But it\u2019s not just young singers who can gain new inspiration for their own musical work: as part of the festival, a study tour is offered for choir directors<\/strong>, providing insights into international rehearsal methods, repertoire work, and choral pedagogy.<\/p>\n

The International Youth Chamber Choir Meeting Usedom, under the patronage of Minister President Manuela Schwesig, is more than just a rehearsal and concert project\u2014it is a vibrant meeting place for young voices from all over Europe. Making music together and cultural exchange across national borders in the beautiful setting of Usedom\u2014with its unique seaside resorts along the expansive sandy beaches, lined with shady forests\u2014are at the heart of this special choral festival.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
