The Greek choir was founded in 1992 by Maria Emma Meligopoulou and consists of different departments: Children’s Choirs I & II, Mixed Youth and Chamber Female Choir, with over 250 singers all in. Alongside performances in its native Greece, the choir has performed in Europe (Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Finland, Italy, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, UK), Asia (Israel, Turkey, Singapore, China), Africa (Egypt, South Africa – two tours 2002 & 2013) and Canada (two tours, 2009 & 2012). The Choir is recipient of several international awards such as Gold Prizes at the “5th Brahms International Choir Festival” in Germany (2007), the “10th International Festival Moscow Sounds” in Russia (2008) and the “5th Loto-Quebec Choir Festival” in Canada (2009). In 2011 the choir won two Gold Prizes and was announced “Category Winner” during the “9th Venezia in Musica Choir Festival” in Italy. The choir collaborates frequently with Thessaloniki & Athens Concert Halls, Thessaloniki’s Opera and Camerata, Thessaloniki State and Municipality Orchestras.
