Alicja Szeluga

PhD conductor, educator and lecturer. She is a graduate of the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań in choral conducting, where she also teaches today. She began her professional career at comprehensive schools, conducting instrumental and vocal ensembles and choirs.
Since 1991 she has been the director and conductor of the SKOWRONKI Girls Choir, whose repertoire and sound profile she has always helped to shape. She has performed with the choir in almost all European countries, Japan, the United States and Bolivia. The highlight of this was certainly a concert in 2015 in the most prestigious and famous concert hall in the world, Carnegie Hall in New York City. With SKOWRONKI she participated in numerous Polish and international choir competitions, winning many prizes, and her discography with the choir includes over 20 CDs and DVDs of studio and concert recordings.
In addition to music, she works as a lecturer and conducts workshops for conductors and children and youth choirs in Poland and abroad. She is regularly invited to the jury of Polish and international choir competitions. She is also the creator and artistic director of TRILLME, an international Girls Choir Festival in Poznań. Alicja Szeluga was awarded the Badge of Honour “Merit for the Wielkopolska Region” and the Gloria Artis Medal, an award in the field of art granted by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland.
